The Accurx GP roadmap

At the start of 2025, we shared our vision for the next phase of Accurx: enabling smarter, more integrated care.

Our approach to improving NHS productivity is rooted in breaking down communication barriers. We focus on changes that bring meaningful benefit to as many users as possible, helping to unlock significant improvements in productivity, a principle that has shaped our work throughout the first half of 2025.

Our focus is on building a platform for GPs that helps them:

So far this year, we’ve redesigned the messaging experience to unlock faster messaging, smarter usage and reduced fragment costs through multiple attachments.

We’ve given users more control over appointments through self-book enhancements, batch telephone appointment invitations and configurable amendment rules to reduce DNAs.

The launch of Accurx Scribe saw an opportunity to radically transform patient consultations, give clinicians their time back and reshape how documentation and communication can work across the NHS.

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, our focus will be on meeting the demands of the new GP Contract and how we can embed the time-saving potential of AI across our product.

So we’ve refreshed our roadmap to show how we’re emphasising releasing improvements that can drive productivity and make lives easier in GP practices across the country. We’re excited to have you with us on the journey.

Our vision

Accurx’s vision is that everyone involved in a patient’s care, including the patient, can easily communicate with one another. We believe that fixing NHS communications is essential to ensure a thriving national health system, free at the point of delivery.

Accurx improves NHS productivity by removing the communication barriers that all too often slow down care. We recognise that fast, efficient and straight-forward ways to manage communications and patient data-capture are essential to improving productivity in primary care. Our digital solutions equip primary care teams to manage demand and deliver care at scale.

Our plan

In delivering our approach we focus our efforts through the primary care pathway, from request to resolution or referral

The next phase for England’s leading online consultation solution will include AI-driven, context-based patient signposting to national and local services. This will improve patient experience and support GP capacity to handle patient demand. Meanwhile, we’ll continue to support GPs to fulfil GP contract obligations through improvements to our Patient Triage solution, practice inbox and other features.

Our collaborative inbox makes it easy for care teams to manage inbound patient requests and to sort and triage them accordingly. We’re working on a number of enhancements to how users can identify, prioritise, manage and deliver for the scale of requests that come into the inbox.

Accurx aims to take the pain out of appointments from inefficient booking processes to note taking during the appointment. In addition to improvements to our Self-Book solution, we have launched Accurx Scribe, powered by Tandem - the easiest way to structure and save patient notes and generate documentation. It saves time for clinicians and puts the focus on the patient not the computer.

Accurx believes that delivering on the neighbourhood working vision requires true cross-NHS integration. We are working to make Accurx a collaborative product that brings multi-disciplinary professionals from across NHS organisations together, so that everyone involved in a patient’s care can communicate and collaborate easily.

A note on statuses

Backlog: Our team want to build this but need to prioritise other items which will have greater impact right now. We constantly seek to bring backlog items into planning and researching, as we reprioritise and plan

Researching: Our team have begun the investigative work on how to make this feature the best it can be and offer the biggest benefit to users. Once a project enters this stage, it can be live in the next 6 months.

Building We are working on building a prototype or developing the functionality in a testing environment. We’d aim to release the feature to some or all users within 3 months.

Piloting We have released the functionality to a targeted group of users to learn and measure impact. A plan to fully release the feature has not yet been agreed or set.

Initial Release We have released the functionality to a small group of users but we are waiting to release it further. Timings for wider release depend on any learnings we gather from this release.

Fully Released The majority or all users now have the feature.
