Celebrating and spending time together is important to us at Accurx - whether it’s a big event like our Pride Party, or just winding down on a Friday post Show and Tell. Although not all of our celebrations will have alcohol present, we want to create a safe and inclusive environment for when people are choosing to drink alcohol together.
We want to ensure that no one ever feels pressured to drink alcohol, or feels excluded because of their choice not to drink. To achieve this, we all need to play our part in creating an inclusive environment for people at events who choose not to drink. While we are happy for you to consume alcohol in the office at appropriate times (after core hours, or during events), we expect you to do this with care. It is important that you don’t consume alcohol in a way that leads to impaired performance, inappropriate behaviour, endangers the safety of yourself or others, or violates the law. Long story short, don't let consumption of alcohol affect your work.
Please keep in mind that we are a healthcare company funded by taxpayers, so it’s important that we behave in a way that doesn’t alienate us from our users.
Accurx also has a duty of care when providing alcohol to ensure that you are safe and not surpassing your limits. So, just like at a bar or pub, we'll all be looking out for each other, and if you've `had enough' for the night, it may be appropriate for a senior member of staff to ask you to stop consuming alcohol at that event.
