Intro
At Accurx we encourage everyone to take a break away from work and maintain a healthy work-life balance. One key way to do this is to take paid holiday days off work (annual leave).
Statutory
The statutory annual leave requirement for full-time workers in the UK is a minimum of 28 days. This includes 20 days of paid leave plus the 8 recognized public holidays.
If you’re part time, you're still entitled to 28 days statutory paid holiday, just in proportion to the hours you work.
What Accurx offers
We give all full-time employees 28 days of annual leave per year, in addition to bank holidays. This means that Accufolk get 36 paid days off per year.
The holiday allowance is based on the calendar year, and will be pro-rated (e.g. if you join on 1st July, you will have 14 days).
Carry over
You can carry over up to a total of 10 days of unused leave at the end of each year. However, 5 of these days of unused leave must be used by January 31st of the following calendar year.
Request your leave in HiBob. This will show you how much leave you have left, and give the whole team visibility on when you're away.
Your leave needs to be approved by your line manager. Just be sensible - if you want to take a two week holiday, don't request it the week before.
While lots of people take leave over Christmas and New Year, we don't close the office. Firstly, the healthcare system runs over Christmas, so we think we should too. Secondly, not everyone celebrates Christmas - some people want to keep their leave for the long warm summer days.
